Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 12, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Terms of Service") carefully before using the DriveSage website and services operated by DriveSage, a trading name of Will Ward ("us", "we", "our").
Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.
1. Accounts and Registration
When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms, which may result in immediate termination of your account on our Service.
You are responsible for safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service and for any activities or actions under your password, whether your password is with our Service or a third-party service.
You agree not to disclose your password to any third party. You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.
2. Services and Subscription
DriveSage provides vehicle history data, MOT test history, valuation services, AI-powered car recommendations, and related information for vehicles registered in the United Kingdom.
We offer various subscription plans with different levels of access and features. The specific features available to you depend on the type of subscription you select. Detailed information about our subscription plans and pricing is available on our website.
All subscriptions are billed in advance according to the billing cycle chosen at the time of purchase. Unless you cancel your subscription before the end of the applicable subscription period, you will be automatically charged for the next subscription period at the then-current subscription rate.
Free Trial
DriveSage may, at its sole discretion, offer a free trial of its subscription services. You will not be charged during the free trial period.
At the end of the free trial period, unless you cancel your subscription, you will be automatically charged the applicable subscription fee for the subscription plan you selected.
Business Plan
DriveSage offers a Business plan designed for automotive trade professionals, fleet operators, and dealerships. Access to the Business plan requires an application via our website. Applications are reviewed and approved at our discretion. Upon approval, applicants receive a trial period with full Business plan features before conversion to a paid subscription. Business plan pricing, credit allocations, and custom terms are communicated directly to approved businesses at the time of agreement.
Business plan subscribers may be subject to bespoke terms agreed at the time of onboarding. In the event of any conflict between those bespoke terms and these Terms of Service, the bespoke terms prevail for the subject matter they cover.
Credit System and Top-Ups
DriveSage operates using a credit system. Credits are used to access various features including vehicle history checks, AI-powered car recommendations, and other premium services.
Credits can be acquired through subscription plans or one-time purchases called "top-ups". Top-up credits do not expire and are added to your account balance immediately upon successful payment.
Subscription plans include a monthly allocation of credits. Monthly subscription credits reset with each billing cycle. Unused subscription credits do not roll over to the next month.
Free accounts receive a limited number of free basic vehicle checks per day (currently 10 per 24-hour period, subject to change). This limit resets daily at midnight UTC. Paid plan subscribers are not subject to this limit and receive unlimited basic vehicle checks.
2A. Referral Programme
From time to time we operate a referral programme that rewards existing users for introducing new customers, and may give a welcome benefit to the person referred. Participation is subject to these Terms and to any specific rules shown on our referral page at the time.
- Referral rewards and welcome benefits are awarded in DriveSage credits, in the amounts shown on the referral page, which we may change or withdraw at any time.
- A referral only qualifies when the referred person is a genuinely new customer who signs up through your referral link and meets any conditions stated on the referral page (for example, completing registration or a first qualifying purchase). Rewards are granted at most once per referred person.
- You must not refer yourself, create duplicate or fake accounts, or use any other deceptive, automated, or manipulative means to generate rewards. Self-referrals and accounts created to exploit the programme do not qualify.
- Referral and welcome credits are promotional, have no cash value, are non-transferable, and follow the same usage rules as other subscription/promotional credits.
- We may withhold, reverse, or remove referral or welcome credits, and suspend participation, where we reasonably believe the programme has been abused, or where a related payment is refunded, charged back, or otherwise reversed.
- We may modify, suspend, or end the referral programme at any time. This does not affect credits already validly earned and used.
3. Data Accuracy and Limitations
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, DriveSage relies on data from third-party sources, including government databases, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of this information.
The vehicle history data provided through our Service is based on information made available to us, which may be incomplete or delayed. The valuation data is based on algorithmic calculations and market analysis, and should be considered as estimates only.
Signed-in analyses are saved automatically to your account history, and you may save vehicles to a personal watchlist. Storage allowances vary by plan. Unsaved history entries beyond your plan's allowance, and unsaved entries not viewed for approximately six months on accounts without an active subscription, are deleted automatically. Vehicles you explicitly save to your watchlist are retained until you remove them or delete your account. We may adjust storage allowances; vehicles already saved are not deleted when allowances change.
AI-generated recommendations, including those provided by our Car Match Chat service, are based on available information and algorithms. These recommendations should be considered as suggestions only and not definitive advice. We do not warrant the accuracy or suitability of AI-generated recommendations for your specific circumstances.
DriveSage does not warrant that any of the materials on its website or services are accurate, complete, or current. DriveSage may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice.
3A. Shareable Reports
DriveSage allows you to generate a unique shareable link for certain vehicle reports, including vehicle history analyses and comparisons. When you share a report link:
- The link is publicly accessible — anyone with the link can view the report without creating an account.
- Shared report links expire automatically after 30 days. Expired links return an error to viewers.
- Reports contain vehicle data derived from publicly available DVLA and MOT records, and AI-generated analysis. You are responsible for deciding whether to share a report and with whom.
- We do not include your personal account details in shared reports, but the report does identify the vehicle by registration number.
- We reserve the right to disable a shared report link at any time if we believe it is being misused.
By generating a shareable link you acknowledge that the report content will be accessible to anyone who receives the link until it expires.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service:
- In any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation.
- To transmit, or procure the sending of, any advertising or promotional material, including any "junk mail", "chain letter", "spam", or any other similar solicitation.
- To impersonate or attempt to impersonate DriveSage, a DriveSage employee, another user, or any other person or entity.
- To engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the Service, or which, as determined by us, may harm DriveSage or users of the Service, or expose them to liability.
- To use the Service for any commercial purpose other than as expressly permitted by these Terms.
- To use any robot, spider, or other automatic device, process, or means to access the Service for any purpose, including monitoring or copying any of the material on the Service.
- To use any manual process to monitor or copy any of the material on the Service or for any other unauthorized purpose without our prior written consent.
- To attempt to circumvent credit usage limitations, token limits, or other service usage restrictions.
Additionally, you agree not to:
- Use the Service in any manner that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair the site or interfere with any other party's use of the Service.
- Use any device, software, or routine that interferes with the proper working of the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with, damage, or disrupt any parts of the Service, the server on which the Service is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to the Service.
- Attack the Service via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack.
- Otherwise attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Service.
4A. User Content, Reviews and Feedback
You may be able to submit content to DriveSage, such as reviews, ratings, cancellation feedback, and other comments ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but by submitting it you grant DriveSage a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, display, publish, and adapt that content for the purposes of operating, promoting, and improving the Service — including displaying reviews on our website and in marketing materials.
You agree that any User Content you submit is your own, is honest and accurate, and does not breach the Acceptable Use provisions above. You must not submit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, offensive, unlawful, or that infringes any third party's rights.
We are not obliged to publish or retain any User Content, and we may moderate, edit, decline, or remove any User Content at our discretion — including reviews we reasonably believe to be fake, improperly incentivised, or in breach of these Terms. Where we publish reviews, we may take reasonable steps to confirm they come from genuine customers.
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by us freely and without restriction or obligation to you.
5. AI-Powered Services
DriveSage provides AI-powered services including the Car Match Chat feature. These services are subject to the following conditions:
- Our AI services use third-party AI providers including Google AI.
- AI responses may be limited in length to ensure optimal performance and fair usage.
- AI-powered services consume credits according to our published rates. Car Match Chat is metered by context: 1 credit per 3 messages (plain chat), 1 credit per 2 messages (with a vehicle analysis attached), 1 credit per message (with a vehicle comparison attached), and 1 credit per dashboard AI action (checklist, listing description, reply draft). A one-shot comparison chat costs 2 credits. Rates may be adjusted from time to time and are shown in the app and on our Pricing page.
- We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or appropriateness of AI-generated content.
- We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue AI services at any time.
- You must not use our AI services to generate or distribute harmful, offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of DriveSage and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United Kingdom and foreign countries. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of DriveSage.
The data and information provided through the Service are licensed, not sold, to you. You have no ownership rights to the data or information provided through the Service.
AI-generated content is provided for your personal use only. While you may use recommendations and information generated by our AI services for your personal vehicle purchase decisions, you may not systematically reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit this content.
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall DriveSage, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service;
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service;
- Any content obtained from the Service; and
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content,
- Any AI-generated recommendations or content;
- Any decisions made based on information or recommendations provided by our services;
whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage, and even if a remedy set forth herein is found to have failed of its essential purpose.
DriveSage's total liability to you for all claims arising under or related to this agreement will not exceed the amount paid by you, if any, to DriveSage for use of the Service during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages. Accordingly, some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DriveSage, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, and affiliates, from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service, including, but not limited to, any use of the Service's content other than as expressly authorized in these Terms.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service or contact us to request account deletion.
All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
Upon account termination, any remaining credits in your account will be forfeited, except where UK consumer law provides otherwise.
10. UK Consumer Rights and Cancellation Policy
This section applies to UK consumers only and sets out your statutory rights under UK law.
14-Day Cooling-Off Period
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your contract with us within 14 days without giving any reason.
The cancellation period expires 14 days from:
- The day you place your order for subscription services
- The day you place your order for credit top-ups (one-time purchases)
Important: For digital services that begin immediately (such as instant credit top-ups), you expressly agree that we begin performance during the 14-day cancellation period. If you download or use credits during this period, your right to cancel may be lost.
How to Cancel
To exercise your right of cancellation, you can:
- Email us at: drivesagehelp@gmail.com
- Use the cancellation form in your account settings
- Cancel your subscription through the Stripe billing portal accessible from your profile
You may use the model cancellation form below, but it is not obligatory:
I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the following service:
Ordered on: [date]
Name of consumer: [your name]
Address of consumer: [your address]
Signature of consumer: [signature]
Date: [date]"
Refunds and Reimbursement
The right to a refund within the 14-day cooling-off period applies only where you have not used any credits and have not generated any report, valuation, comparison or other output, and is subject to the digital content provisions below. Where it applies, we will reimburse the unused portion of your payment without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after we receive your cancellation notice, using the same means of payment you used for the initial transaction. You will not incur any fee as a result of a valid reimbursement.
Immediate supply and loss of the cancellation right: DriveSage credits, and the reports, valuations, comparisons, AI analyses and other outputs they unlock, are digital content and digital services supplied on demand. By completing any purchase of credits or any subscription, you expressly request that we begin supplying that digital content and those services immediately, and you acknowledge and agree that you thereby lose your statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 in respect of any credit that has been used and any output that has been generated.
Used credits and generated outputs are non-refundable: Any credit that has been spent, and any report, valuation, comparison or AI output that has been generated, is final and non-refundable in all circumstances, save where the digital content or service is faulty or not as described (see below). This applies regardless of the result returned, your satisfaction with that result, or whether you chose to act on it.
Subscriptions: A paid subscription is an ongoing service. For the whole of each billing period it provides access to premium features and tools — including the dashboard, cloud garage, watchlist and alerts, valuation history, report and PDF exports, and priority AI features — together with a monthly allocation of credits. Subscription fees are charged in advance for each period. Once a period has begun and that access has been made available to you, the service for that period has been supplied — whether or not you use any feature or spend any credit — and the fee for that period is non-refundable. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not entitle you to a refund of the current or any previous period.
Your statutory rights are unaffected: Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your rights where digital content or a digital service is faulty, not of satisfactory quality, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill. Those rights cannot be waived, and remedies (including a refund where appropriate) remain available to you under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. No refund is given for the current or any previous billing period, in line with the digital content provisions in the Refunds and Reimbursement section above.
Auto-Renewal Notice: Your subscription will automatically renew for the same period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or the Stripe billing portal.
VAT and Billing
All prices shown include UK VAT at 20% where applicable. You will receive a VAT invoice for all purchases, which serves as your receipt and proof of purchase for tax purposes.
As a UK resident, you have the right to receive invoices that comply with UK VAT requirements, including our VAT registration number and full business details.

11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.
12. Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service.
13. Data Protection
Any personal data you provide to us will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. By using DriveSage, you consent to the collection, processing, and storage of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
